As part of the City of Oxnard's Stars and Stripes Event, celebrating American's 250th Anniversary at Downtown Plaza Park on Friday, July 3rd, the Filipino American Council of Ventura County performed a traditional Muslim scarf dance, the Kzaduratan. On Monday, June 1, 2026, the Oxnard City Council presented the Filipino American Council of Ventura County, Inc. with a proclamation declaring June 12, 2026, as Philippine Independence Day in the City of Oxnard.
